If you have been following along, you may have seen this diary of mine and this diary from yesterday and possibly the ones in between, it doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to figure out why I need to take some time and relax with what heals me… music!
The right songs can impact my disposition. Others can indulge my emotions. If music is complex enough, particularly when I am enjoying a live performance in person, it can induce me to be present in the moment. The jumble of worries, considerations, my tendency to brood… the pain all get shunted aside. I am absorbed by it. Each instant in time is all that there is as I am experiencing it. It cleanses and recharges me.
It’s time now, to put down my struggle, anxiety, and my hurt for a moment and just be.
That’s what Twiddle is talking about here:
Here’s one more from Twiddle with a reminder.
Ekoostik Hookah gets it too:
I didn’t get a chance to read it yet, but I saw a story here earlier that features a pic of Professor Longhair. I love me some Fess! The album that this track is on features, not just Fess, but another of my all favorites Clearance ‘Gatemouth’ Brown playing guitar. This style puts my mood on the upswing most of the time.
Speaking of sounds that have the lightheartedness to lift my spirit, Wllie and the Wheel is a good option.
Sometimes silliness out Keller Williams brushes the clouds aside too.
More of Keller’s brand of silly
Maybe sometimes I just need to shift gears completely and let The Motet get super funky.
Like I said, funky
The options for music therapy can be quite eclectic for me, but if none of that works, I can always take Del McCoury’s council
I realize that I have been all over the place with this collection of music, but hopefully there was a little something for everybody. Do you find music to be therapeutic? If so, what is it that does the trick for you when you need it to?
Also, I would like to express my children’s and my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who chose to help out here yesterday. You’re all wonderful people. We’re a bit closer now to some solutions and, when we get there, it will have been largely because of your help. The hearts to be found in this community are just astonishing.
