I thought I, my wife and daughter would be safer here in our rural home far outside the town of Norman Ok. I was wrong. Yesterday I read on facebook that one of my wife’s customers had a death in her family. Her 27 year old grandson died of COVID-19 after a very brief period of not feeling very well. I have been the only one who shops now. My wife and 5 year old daughter stay at home, or we all go to my wife’s “temporarily closed business.” I have been doing much needed maintenance on the building that would be difficult to do if she were still open. We are taking every precaution we can to avoid catching this virus. Today there were two late, twenty somethings butting up in the checkout line at Lowes in Norman. They were packed into me at the checkout disregarding the big blue and green squares on the floor with signs stating a 6 foot distance. They were acting like they were invincible. I, and all the others were masked and using hand sanitizer immediately after checking out. These two meat sacks were not. I, personally, use my own green bags and they are sprayed with disinfectant before and after use at any store. I do not allow the cashier to handle my products. I hold them up for hand scan or I use self checkout when it is available. These two idiots are not the only ones. I see this state losing a lot of population in the near future. I will feel sorry for the loss of grandsons and granddaughters that grand parents will experience. The arrogant grandsons and granddaughters out there without a caution or care in the world that lose their grandparents might just be the cause of their deaths.
