We can worry about the damage Trump could still do, but I wouldn’t be so concerned about his challenging the elections in courts. Yes, even if Republicans support him. They’re in no position to do anything to reverse his loss. Even AG William Barr is helpless. It doesn’t matter how many prosecutors he puts into the effort. He knows there’s no hope a single judge, even appointed by Trump, is going to reverse the election results. Why is he doing it, then? He needs to look busy, or busy doing something besides lining up a new job.
This would be much more serious if Trump knew how to consolidate power, had done it over the last four years, and therefore been able to corrupt the vote. But no, Trump was born into power, doesn’t know anything about building it, and wasn’t capable of learning how.
Except for Trump, and a few haplessly faithful like Kayleigh McEnany, I think everybody on his side is bluffing. They’re humoring the mad man, pretending to be on his side until he’s out the door. They know he’s lying and delusional. It might be a threat if the states hadn’t conducted this election so well, making sure that the results stand up to any scrutiny by the courts and anyone else. They know all his court complaints are stillborn.
Think about this: Trump is extremely vindictive. If he gets it in his mind that the whole COUNTRY is disloyal to him, he can do much more damage to all of us than he can fixated with an irreversibly lost election. Trump has power only if the people directly around him follow his commands and/or wishes. Fewer will be. They’ll be sleeping at their desks running out the clock. If he summons them, they’ll be certain to be late.
His followers are going to slowly begin to fall away now. He’ll try to hold rallies, and might hold a few, but that requires money and people to schedule and venues willing to host him.
The worst thing is our government is going to be neglected until he leaves. Then again, our government will probably be better off if he simply neglects it.

Trump’s latest moves might be significant for considering a real coup. But if he thinks just replacing the high command will get the military below them in on the deal. It’s likely that it’s in his plans. But come down to the fact that Trump is a poor administrator, and he doesn’t know how to consolidate power, and Bill Barr doesn’t cut it. But keep an eye on it.
