This is not so much a diary/blog as a plea for somebody knowledgeable to write about this subject. It matters for two reasons:
1. The Forced Arbitration Injustice Repeal Act (FAIR) addresses a real and serious source of injustice: clauses written into contracts, including those little fine-print messes you click or sign with just about every new product or service you get that surrenders the right to take legal action in favor of forced private arbitration.
2. This is one of those things that Democrats should be trumpeting as a “This is what we tried to do for you but Republicans tried to stop us” kind of issue.
I wonder how many people, for example, have been screwed by insurance companies and then told their recourse was aribitration?
Anybody? This seems like a big deal to me.
