Stormy Daniels had leverage to use against Donald Trump, so she used it. She is just one individual who shared a “relationship” with Donald Trump. Yet, she was able to turn those minor dalliances into a six figure payday.
Tony Perkins takes this successful blackmail of the president as a good sign. He then exploits the payoff in his own way. He makes it very clear to Trump that it is Tony Perkins who is in charge of the relationship between Donald Trump and the evangelical voters in the US.
Tony Perkins has a different kind of leverage. His leverage is based on the fact that he can pull the evangelical magic carpet from under Trump’s feet, and he can do it at any time he wishes. It would not take much more than an economic downturn, or the right words from Evangelical leadership in the US.
As long as Trump doesn’t disappoint evangelicals politically, Perkins predicts, they’ll stick with him. “Whenever the policy stops, and his administration reverts to just personality,” he adds, “that’s where I believe the president will be in trouble.”
If Tony Perkins decides that he has gotten all of the juice he can from Donald, he will just say the word, and the flock will turn on the decrepit shephard, Donald Trump.
Tony Perkins says this as plain as day. As we can see from Tony’s comments about the Stormy Daniels’ affair, Tony owns Donald. Tony doesn’t even sugarcoat it. He clearly states that this is a transaction being completed here. They know very well that Donald Trump is not the moral leader.
Later, Perkins adds, “I think the president is providing the leadership we need at this time, in our country and in our culture.”
As a moral leader? I ask.
“As a leader,” Perkins replies.
As long as Donald Trump keeps dancing for the religious right, they will give him their votes, but most importantly, they will give him their vocal support, as well as their silent consent. Trump’s recent “March For Life” appearance was his reiteration of his desire to have evangelicals still support him. He tells them that he will do whatever they want, and they hear him. They know it’s not a statement of his true beliefs.
They embrace Trump the policymaker, despite being uneasy about Trump as a man, says Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, ... Loyalty is important to him, and I think in this transaction, he realizes, 'Hey, these are people I can count on, because they don't blow with the political winds,'
If Stormy Daniels and the religious right in the US (and abroad) can be so successful in leveraging their resources against the man, how simple would it be for a foreign intelligence service to dangle him over the edge of the boat? This is what it comes down to. If you have leverage over Trump, he will do whatever you want him to do. He will bark on command and roll over.
As long as Trump doesn’t disappoint evangelicals politically, Perkins predicts, they’ll stick with him.
It is a transaction between a corrupt “businessman” and his owners.
When Trump was bested by Stormy Daniels in the negotiation process, it was his own resources. I don’t need to tell you that the president’s self declared mastery of negotiation is a fraud. He can’t even win a negotiation with individuals or his own religious supporters. The most dangerous thing about this is that he is now negotiating with the resources of the American people.
He has shown the entire world that he has always been willing to deal with blackmailers, and there is no reason to believe they haven’t taken him up on the offer.
He is well aware of who is holding the leash.
