So George Stephanopoulos get's caught with his pants down and wallet out as he tries to place himself squarely in the middle of an upcoming primary debate as he did in 2008. It appears that Stephanopoulos hasn't been completely forthright when it comes to monetary contributions that he's tendered to the Clintons. It's evident Stephanopoulos chose to outright ignore the glaring fact that he was trampling on Journalistic ethics as he moderated a debate in 2008 that involved the very candidate that he had funded and supported.
Sometimes you get too big for your britches! But, liberals who favor Obama shouldn't be so quick to defend Stephanopoulos just because he has been an ardent defender of the Clintons, nor should they favor Stephanopoulos because they now yearn for Hillary to be the Democratic nominee in 2016. Stephanopoulos shamelessly used his bias journalism as a moderator during the Hillary vs. Barack primary debates in 2008 against then candidate Barack Obama.
It was impressive to watch ABC come out so quickly to defend Stephanopoulos via a dogmatic statement they issued in support of ABC's power player. The problem is as this thing unfolds more discrepancies surface regarding Stephonopoulos' failure to disclose monetary contributions to the Clintons.
So what does ABC do now? They're heavily invested in Stephanopoulos. They took a dangerous risk in assigning him so many crucial roles within ABC, that he became their brand, and now, ABC has no choice but to defend their brand, even if they know he and they, are wrong.
Here's how Politico describes it:
Former Clintonland insider George Stephanopoulos, who has excelled at both politics and journalism, appears to have failed both professions with a single transgression.
