Well, there’s elements that I like. Some of those elements I really like, such as:
-
Bullets and numbering. Thought I’d died and gone to formatting heaven!
-
Inserting images — holy moley, is this an improvement! I write about how to do it here. Will I be posting more pics as a result? — yes, oh yes! Not scientific, but I believe I’m seeing more images being used already.
-
Who am I replying to? Who is the commentator above me replying to? No longer a problem — that invaluable information is now built right into the comment! Makes me want to throw a party.
-
Editing in place. With both comments and writing diaries, your final copy will look just like your edit page. Yes, just like it.
Is it all good? I dunno. Literally, I don’t know. I was such a klutz I literally messed up my very first comment on D’Kos way back in the day. That doesn’t mean that I didn’t get the hang of it nearly 10,000 comments later. And there were things about DK4 that initially made me beyond frosty too, but who didn’t ultimately adapt to that version?
I got used to DK4. Took me a while, then one day I could actually say that I quite liked it. I even mastered comments lol. DK5? - I think it’ll be the same way after I live with it a while.
Meanwhile, I’ll celebrate the bits I’m excited about. Those are bits that I’m really excited about, btw, and I’m discovering more and more of those all the time.
