I thought I'd open things up today to a broader discussion of health and well-being. Health is more than exercise and eating right, after all. It sometimes involves medications, as the diabetics (types 1 and 2) can tell us. But it also involves the things we do to feed our souls, to keep ourselves on track, and to make sure we can keep on going when the shadows seem overwhelmingly dark.
What are your health-boosting activities?
Daily Kos Weight Loss is a community at Daily Kos dedicated to weight loss, maintenance, and support. As with all communities, trolls are calorie-free and will be munched should they engage with us. Please feel free to jump, jog, skip, dive, or walk in.
Of course, as many of us know, pet ownership boosts health and well-being. Blood pressure lowers when you pet a pet. Does that work for preening as well? I think so. Plus the entertainment value of a pet can be great on its own. And as the more theatrically-inclined of us are aware, pets are GREAT for spurring us on to ACTING.
I preened my cockatiel Vinnie this morning. I also watched my budgies bathing. What do your pets do?

As Spring progresses, there are wonderful outdoor places to visit and refresh our minds. Here are a few places we like to go in our area. Where do you go and what do you do there? We usually walk around and look at things.
This is outdoors at our library last Fall.

140 on the scale this morning. Going to go out and get some sun? It's free, and it feels good after the deep freeze we were in. I'm beginning to think the people who planned Easter this late this year were on to something. How about you? :D
