As I have documented over the last few weeks, the claims from Team Greenwald regarding the NSA's programs have been filled with gross exaggerations and wild over-reactions designed to push an anti-Obama narrative rather than provide a complete, accurate picture of the true state of the NSA's surveillance programs. Now comes word that Team Greenwald's latest Obama Outrage du Jour is completely false, as the White House has expressly, explicitly, and unambiguously denied that James Clapper would be leading a review of the NSA.
Another attack on Obama proves baseless:

White House denies intel chief will lead NSA surveillance review
"Director Clapper will not be a part of the group, and is not leading or directing the group’s efforts," Caitlin Hayden, a White House spokeswoman, told The Hill on Tuesday.
"The White House is selecting the members of the Review Group, consulting appropriately with the Intelligence Community," she said, adding that the administration expects to announce the members of the group soon.
Shawn Turner, a spokesman for the director of national intelligence, also said that the group will "not be under the direction of or led by" Clapper.
Oooops. Yet another Greenwaldian narrative vanishes in a puff of smoke upon closer inspection. Cue the next outrage.
