To continue on from OPOL's Diary
If you stand back and say:
1] But nothing illegal was done
2] The GOP would have been worse.
3] It's only to be expected in the digital age.
4] If you have done nothing wrong then why are you worried?
I would say you are part of the problem. Invasion of privacy by the government is a serious business, and at what point to you turn around and say:
Oh gosh, who knew? What do we do now?
By that time it may be irreversible, the grind has been going on since WWII we seem to accept greater and greater government intrusion into our personal affairs without damn well screaming the house down.
This snooping, prying, and invasive technology has been approved on a bipartisan basis, it is not a question of party politics it is a civil rights/civil liberties issue and it is time we treated it as such.
It really is time to cause serious disruption to the system because at this time for your "safety" the government is rolling over all our rights.
Other countries are using our system notable the UK whose government hasn't even bothered to deny the use of the Prism program by their agencies, but just say they have it all under control as far as oversight is concerned.
Bullshit I say.
I could go on and on, but I am not going to, the choice is yours and I for one will continue to fight this every step of the way.
