Welcome to the Team DFH Freaky Friday Music party.
Last week was Step Right Up... priors were "Deadlines"; we've had a "Showdown Hoedown"... before it was "Hullabaloo".... Previously, "Team DFH Music Cabal"... before that, “Friday Night Feel Good Music" ...
Because Team DFH operates more or less like a herd of cats, this diary series doesn’t actually have a formal name but we’re here on Friday Nights, at roughly 9PM Eastern, to let our hair down, maybe light up a fattie, and get some groovy on.
Please join in comments with your own contrbutions. Here's HOW: To add vids in comments: Click on "share"; then the "embed" button; change the size of the video graphic too, so when it posts, it is smaller. Use 300pixels in the custom parameters (last one on the right) under the embed code. {h/t joanneleon}
Believe it or not, I didn't see it. Family time in the morning, the TV is usually on the Morning News shows , so I overheard some of it, but I'm busy then with breakfast anyway. I've seen a few of the pictures online. One thing I did hear was my husband with a loud guffaw when he heard someone (no idea who, a Brit though) say something about 'we extend our sympathies to our American friends who've suffered the awful weather conditions, we hope our little function will help to cheer them up'. (Paraphrased badly, sorry, I only half heard it) so we were pretty quick to shut it off after that.
I know, I know... I suppose we all have our guilty pleasures, but gawking at British royals in all their finery for the wedding of the Crown Prince (he is the Crown Prince, right?) just isn't one of mine. Got some different music I'm in the mood for tonight, only mildly inspired by William & Kate.
Note... I easily could have gone with Sex Pistols, but... lucky you... I went another direction with it.
So come on... you roving minstrels..... leap for more.
According to the little blurb someone included with this vid, this is a song ...
Of a man getting caught in the switch from hand to steam weaving and losing his girl friend in the process. There was a great bitterness felt between the hand-loom weavers and those who worked in the steam looms introduced during the industrial revolution. This feeling polarised in the Luddites who where unemployed hand-loom weavers bent on destroying the steam looms which had put them out of work.

As long as we're (not) talking about weddings and stuff, do stop over to read rserven's diary Good Parents v Bad People. And in case you missed it, Clarknt67 updates and DOMA news ...
BREAKING: Just saw this very fun (toally different style) diary up already by BFSKinner Wedding music, for the day of Merry old England ... perfect hang for any of who aren't particularly in sync here with my take on it. lol
So...what's your mood this evening?
