Yes folks, the only way the U.S. mainstream media is going to report on catastrophic climate change is when it hits the elites where it hurts: on the golf courses. And even then, they will couch it in non-specific language that obfuscates the real reasons...
This weekend, no less than the Oracle of Murdoch, The Wall Street Journal reported that:
The sustained record-breaking heat across much of the U.S. this summer, combined with high humidity and occasional heavy rain, is killing the greens on many golf courses. A handful of high-profile courses have already had to close, and if the heat continues, others are likely to follow.
You might think they would give some thought for the possible reasons... and they have:
Golfers themselves deserve part of the blame for insisting that putting surfaces be mown short and fast even in weather conditions in which such practices are almost certain to ruin them.
Yup, that's all there is to it: Bad lawnmowing methods. Never mind the rampant wildfires in Russia, or the endless heat wave that is gripping much of the Lower 48, it all comes down to faulty lawnmower riding heights and those spoiled golfers who insist on faster greens.
So next time you go to the doctor, or visit your lawyer or spot a prominent CEO or board member tooling along in his SUV, be sure to let them know that you FEEL THEIR PAIN.
Because, we are all in this together.

UPDATE: Meanwhile, unreported by the America Corporate Media, the World Climate Talks are going to hell in a handbasket:
BRUSSELS - A global climate deal is further away than ever, with discord among nations reaching a new low at talks in Bonn over the last week and with the EU warning that discussions are not so much advancing as going into reverse.
"These negotiations have if anything gone backwards," said Connie Hedegaard, the European Union's climate action commissioner, on Friday (6 August) following preparatory UN talks in the German city ahead of a summit in Cancun, Mexico at the end of the year. "This imbalance is not helpful and could seriously endanger the prospects of securing the successful outcome the world needs from the Cancun climate conference next December."
