Sorry to be so brief, but I think folks need to know that Franken, Kerry, Leahy, and Whitehouse have signed on the letter circulated yesterday by Michael Bennet, Kirsten Gillibrand, Jeff Merkley, and Sherrod Brown.
Here's the article:

More about what they're pushing for below the fold:
The letter asks Harry Reid to stage a full Senate vote on the public option under budget reconciliation rules. It argues that there’s a history of using the technique for passing significant health care legislation and that a majority of Americans has consistently supported a public option.
The letter — the work of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee and [Howard Dean's] Democracy for America — also bears the signatures of over a hundred House Dems.
If only....
If nothing else, it would be nice to get on record which "Democrats" supported what the public wants and which remained loyal to their overlords: health care lobbyists who see the public option as a vehicle that will depress the industry's profits--not kill it, mind you, but just make them settle for a little less.
I don't expect this to gain enough signatories to force the issue, but I do applaud those who are signing on. Good for them. At least there are some representatives who see themselves as working for the public good.
