There was the potential for the House to pass the Senate version of health insurance reform due to the loss of the Massachusetts Senate seat. This article published earlier this morning suggested House Dems reluctance to pass the Senate version. Now it seems the House has officially rejected that version.

I don't think it's possible to pass the Senate bill in the House," Pelosi told reporters after a morning meeting with her caucus. "I don't see the votes for it at this time."

So this begs the question. "When will the votes be there?" What would make the moderates change their position? It seems that with the Obama Administration it's the liberals who are expected to compromise not the moderates or conservative Dems. I think when most people say "not at this time" it's nicer way of saying "never."
