Well...now that the shock factor has set in, it's a chance to see what the folks in the land of Wingnuttia are talking about on this day where Chicago lost the bid for the 2016 Olympics.
THe wife and I kinda liked the idea that the games would have been (literally) right in our back yard, and the family would have had their first-ever opportunity to go see them. But, alas - it was not meant to be. There were other forces at work in the chambers of the IOC.
If you ask the folks on the right, tho - this is a Godsend.
Follow me, if you dare, for a link-free look at the hypocrisy of the vast right-wing conspiracy...
DRUDGE is going nuts with the headlines!
"The Ego Has Landed"
"Obama + Michelle x Oprah = Zero"
LOL!

Hehehe...father Dailey is not going to be happy. Neither is his Chicgao machine.
The IOC selection committee is obviously racist.
Right. They are going to choose Rio because it has more people of color than Chicago.

I'm not inserting any commentary on any of teh stupid that you are reading above - it speaks for itself. I could only tolerate a short visit to the asylum, for fear of being forced to go out and buy brain bleach (which I may still have to do anyway...)
The right is going to fall all over themselves to rub the Obama Administration's nose in the dirt on this one.
All I can say is that Chicago and the US put on the best show that we could to try and bring the games back to the US, but in the end, we were unsuccessful.
To either Rio or Madrid, whichever city may get the Games of 2016, I wish you good luck. This was not Chicago's time. Maybe there will be others.
