That's Double D for a double dose of lunacy. Editorials slamming Obama from ex-UN ambassador(by recess appointment only) John Bolton and 101st Fighting Keyboardist Jonah Goldberg.
Mr Bolton first, "Obama the Naive" ,from Bolton,
Consider his facile observations about President Kennedy's first meeting with Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev, in Vienna in 1961. Obama saw it as a meeting that helped win the Cold War, when in fact it was an embarrassment for the American side. The inexperienced Kennedy performed so poorly that Khrushchev may well have been encouraged to position Soviet missiles in Cuba in 1962, thus precipitating one of the Cold War's most dangerous crises
For someone slamming Obama's naiviety and lack of understanding of history Mr Bolton shows little of it himself. The Soviet missiles deployed to Cuba in 1962 were a response to US medium range missiles we deployed to Turkey in 1961 as well as being a response to the US sponsored "Bay of Pigs" invasion. The fact that Kennedy and Khruschev backed away from conflict through negiotiation(Both sides removed said missiles) is something positive about both men and also something about wannabe "diplomat" Bolton who apparently doesn't understand diplomacy or negiotiation. The "my way or the highway" approach doesn't appear to be working in either Iraq or elsewhere. http://www.latimes.com/...
Puffy faced 101st fighting Keyboardist Jonah Goldberg also weighs in with the laughable title "Obama's Judgement on Iraq Falls Short" WTF. If Obama's judgement is "short" there are many others including Senator McCain, the bush administration and Mr Goldberg whose judgement is "Lilliputian"or rather microscopic. That whole group of war supporters whose "judgement" was relied on to get us into this mess still feel entitled to advise on strategy and tactics is nothing short of criminal.http://www.latimes.com/...
