I'm no newbie, I've been here since '04. And I'm no kid, I'm 43. And I'm not an Obama-worshiper; I like him, I was proud to vote for him, but I would've voted Edwards or Dodd if they'd been HRC's main competition on Super Tuesday.
But I don't understand how anybody who's been here since, oh, at least 2006, could be for Clinton.
Because, aren't these the gates we're supposed to be crashing?
Think about it.
The Democratic Leadership Council.
Terry McAuliffe.
Aren't these the gates we're supposed to be crashing?
Consulting firms who have one guy working for a Dem candidate and another guy working for the Repub nominee.
Aren't these the gates we're supposed to be crashing?

Aren't these the gates we're supposed to be crashing?

Aren't these the gates we're supposed to be crashing?
Yes to the Iraq war authorization
Yes to Kyl-Lieberman
Skip out on FISA even though you were 30 miles away (and your opponent made it there)
Aren't these the gates we're supposed to be crashing?
So, for some of you HRC supporters who can't understand why a lot of people here don't see it your way-- this is why. While there are a number of people here who are truly head-over-heels about Obama, it's not just that, and I don't even think it's mostly that.
And it's not about kids, or newbies with UIDs over 125000 or whatever...in fact, I don't know how longtime Kossacks don't see it.
Because it's about people-powered politics. It's about taking the party away from the 'moneyed interests'. It's about progressiveism, and not DLC-type milquetoast triangulating centrism. It's all those things Kos has been preaching since he started the site.
It's about Crashing the Gates. The guardian at those gates is Hillary Clinton. And I'm baffled at long-time Kossacks that don't see it.
Obama's not perfect--of course he isn't, he's a politician. :-) However, he's not the one standing guard at those gates.
