This is great news, especially coming on the heels of yesterday's historic SCOTUS decision. In yet another blow to the neocon wet-dream of their New World Order, Iraq has refused the fourth attempt by the US to impose our rules on their sovereign nation.
Talks with the United States on a new long-term security pact have reached a "dead end" because of U.S. demands that infringed Iraq's sovereignty, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said Friday.
What, you don't want permanent military bases, immunity for our soldiers and gunslingers mercenaries contractors, us controlling your airspace, "and freedom to conduct operations independent of Iraqi control?" After all we've done for you?
We got rid of the tyrant, Saddam, rebuilt your infrastructure squashed the civil war brought peace to the region... um, er.... sacrificed so much in our own country for you, and this is the thanks we get? We do plan on leaving, eventually. Maybe in 50, or 100 years...
She said the agreement included no timetable for drawing down American forces and "this is a scandal."
