I want to pass this information along, for those of you who are able to get to Washington DC at any time between September 5 through the 21st.
After reading David Swanson's article "Where Were You When They Took Your Rights Away?" I am hoping this event will have an enormous turnout that will be the beginning of a hopeful time in this country.
Swanson opens his article with the following words:
Can you name the one country on earth where the government can steal elections, strip away basic rights, spy on citizens, and launch wars based on lies, but where the people do not take over the nation's capital in protest?
If you said the United States, you'll be wrong on September fifth when Camp Democracy begins on the National Mall in Washington, DC

At long last, Americans are preparing to say "Enough is enough," and to do what Ukrainians, Mexicans, or any other people not drugged into acquiescence would do when things got this bad: occupy the capital city to demand peace, justice, and accountability.

The tide is turning. We've just ousted a Bush-loving predatory war hawk in a CT primary, there is a lawsuit recently filed by Mike Papantonio and Robert F Kennedy,Jr. against voter fraud,
August 07, 2006 (Computerworld) -- A federal whistle-blower lawsuit has been filed that claims one e-voting company knowingly sold electronic voting devices that did not perform as promised.
and there is
a new AP-IPSOS poll that shows 71% wrong direction for the country.
These are promising developments. A lot of work has been done by the true patriots of our time and a lot more is yet to be done. But I have to believe that this is the turning of the tide. We can do this together.
