1st, truly sorry you were the target of such a vulgar attack by Trump. It was really despicable.
*******
So, here were the choices you made, in order:
1. Make public comment that Bill Clinton should’ve resigned in the wake of the Lewinsky affair.
No matter that it was consensual and that Bill (nor Hillary) is the president. OK, eyebrows raised, but you’ve been a champion for women and while your timing and choice was questionable, it wasn’t necessarily ‘surprising.’
2. Led the charge to get Franken to resign.
Franken certainly did SOMETHING wrong. Instead of let the investigation play out, you led the public calls for him to resign. Other senators joined in.
Today: No Republican candidate or officeholder with similar or worse allegations has resigned, since.
3. Don’t call for Trump to resign right after you led on Clinton and Franken.
This article: www.google.com/…
(a very pro-Gillibrand article btw) admits that during her interview she was evasive on saying definitely Trump should step down, while calling for Franken to resign.
‘We need to have that conversation.’ No, Senator, we’ve been having it for the better part of a year and you’ve een leading it.
Kirsten got, and is still getting, CRUSHED on social media for going after Clinton and Franken, but then being coy on Trump. So, forgive me if i’m not 100% enthusiastic about Gillibrand still leading this charge.
I’m not happy about this, either. Kirsten was my 1/1a. choice for 2020. She’s lost me for the primaries, and I’ll venture to guess, many others.
