Sorry to take up diary space on something that should be background, but this is vexing. For years I've been using Firefox as my browser for political websites. And the left two tabs are for DailyKos (front page and my comments).
Until yesterday it all worked fine.
But I've been traveling and yesterday I transited through the Bangkok airport. When I connected to the internet and refreshed my comments page I was logged out of DailyKos. No big deal, right? This happens from time to time. You log back in and everything is fine.
But this time when I hit the login link, I just keep getting sent back to the front page without any login screen. In the address bar, there's a little notification from Firefox that 'Firefox is blocking content on this page'. There's an Options dropdown that offers 'Disable protection for now' as a choice. I select that and hit login again, but it's just the same process again. Firefox blocks the content.
I've restarted the browser a couple of times and cleared the cache, but it makes no difference.
I'm able to write this diary, because I'm having no such problems in IE. Still, I'm used to using Firefox for my political websites and I'd like to continue doing so if I can fix this.
In general I've found that just about every problem I have has been faced by someone else before. So, I'm hoping someone has a suggestion to fix this.
5:10 PM PT: Fixed. Deleting cookies was the winning answer. I would have tried that before posting this, but it's not obvious in Firefox how to do that. Go to Tools on the menu bar. Select Options. Select Privacy and there's a small link in there that allows you to manage cookies.
Thanks to everyone who responded so quickly. I knew I could count on you folks.
