So a Federal Marshal forceably rips a cell phone from a womans hand and destroys it in order to 1) destroy the evidence already collected on it and 2) prevent further evidence collection. The woman was standing on the sidewalk legally filming a police action when said Marshall commits several crimes, assault, malicious mischief, wilful destruction of private property, wilful destruction of evidence and theft come to mind immediately. Luckily, somebody else filmed the officer's illegal behavior
When the victim of this outrage complains to LAPD, she is told that they have no authority over the Marshals, as if the fact that somebody is a federal cop exempts them from all laws and from investigatins and arrests for violating laws within the jurisdiction of the LAPD. Nice to know.
