Who would vandalize this memorial tree?
A mere 24 hours after a tree and plaque were dedicated in a Ferguson park to memorialize Michael Brown, the tree was
found broken in half:
In a statement Monday, the city said a sapling planted in January Wabash Park, that had been donated by the Black Caucus of the American Library Association, was found damaged Sunday. The tree was dedicated to the memory of Brown, who was fatally shot by a Ferguson police officer in August.
A second sapling bought by a local resident and dedicated to a dead pet also was damaged, city officials said.
The city said both trees were chopped off at the trunk and that concrete plaques placed at the bases of both were taken.
City officials said they plan to replace it immediately. See the KMOV.com report
