Senior Likud sources: Netanyahu may not win election
'Speech to Congress should have strengthened Likud, but we didn’t achieve the desired outcome.'

Senior Likud figures are increasingly acknowledging that party leader Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may not win Tuesday’s national election.
“Something isn’t going the way it should. Netanyahu’s speech to Congress last week should have created a turning point for us and strengthened Likud in the polls. It’s clear that we didn’t achieve the desired outcome,” a senior figure in Likud told Haaretz.
“We came to these elections thinking Netanyahu had no real rival. Now we understand that the picture is much more complex,” another Likud source said.
...it’s not clear if we will overcome this, the party figure said adding: “The problem is not Likud. People just don’t want to vote Netanyahu.”
And there it is.
In black and white.
In plain sight.
and thus:
@BarackObama was right.
and........
(keep going, beneath the burnt orange hypothetical mushroom cloud, that, when looked at with clearer eyes, will just look like a lovely challah......)
and
#47Traitors fell for it.
because #GOPWantsWar.
(and not just because #GOPWantsWar, but because the worst of them want American Jews to be chased out of the US to Israel, and for Israel to play its sacrificial role in their End Times fantasies. But that's for another day and another diary.)
For now, back to Tweeting Our Tushes Off ---
Look how far we've come in a week and a half -- since 200 top members of Israel's security establishment made it clear that Bibi is full of bull on a bunch of the scary topics he spoke to Congress about, that Israel's security does not depend on having Bibi as PM (and most definitely will be enhanced by his not being PM), and that it is now completely kosher to criticize Bibi and Likud without being guilty of being "anti-Israel" or "anti-Semitic" -----
** PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE: Retweet as many of the tweets in the diary and the comments as you possibly can. For many of the key hashtags, 3-5 retweets can make all the difference of whether a tweet shows up in "top tweets" (what people see by default)... or whether it fades into the past by only being listed in "all tweets" (people specifically have to click to see that list. At this point in the election campaign cycle, being on the top tweet list for these high-influence hashtags (esp #IsraElex) can be worth a huge amount in equivalent advertising & outreach. YOU CAN MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE -- just with your mouse and keyboard!
And yes, you are welcome to put your own tweets into the comments here, and give everybody else an opportunity to retweet you.
Plus you can tweet the whole diary (button up top), adding your own choice of hashtags, or even rewording the title to make a more compelling tweet, tweet it out -- and then click the "..." icon menu under your tweet, select "embed tweet", copy the embed code, paste into the body of a comment, give a snarky comment title, click post --- and voila, you've made your tweet available to all of us to retweet.
Last, but not least, be generous with your recs of comments and retweets of tweets here -- it costs you nothing to be generous, and that little pulse of "oomph" today can make a huge difference to the future of people, peace, and planet for decades to come.
