I think I'll start a diary, Mountain Dreams.
Ellie got two bones today. It's 4 degrees, and everything is covered in ice, snow, and frost. Ellie, the dog from down the hill, came by to beg for a Milk-bone, and I gave her one. Normally, I wait for Fin, my part-time dog, to bring the local pack around, but Ellie came by herself this time. I saw her in the cold as I drove down to the trash bins, and so when she came begging, I gave her a bone.
Then Fin, Blue-boy, and Ellie all came by, eager to get their daily bones. Like kids trick-or-treating, they come by every day and beg. Ellie got two bones today!
A bit about me, I guess. I'm in my 60's, and have been watching politics since Watergate. I spent 40 years in Austin, playing in bands and working in high-tech. I ran the ARPANET in the 1970's, so I've been on the Net now for almost 40 years.
Recently, I retired (I thought), and moved to the mountains. Then I got an offer I couldn't refuse and went to work for another high-tech firm, this time from home. The town I'm in is too small for a TV station, and bears, elk, and deer come into my back yard. I lock my doors at night; not because of people, but because of bears.
I thought it might be fun to put some musings down on "paper"; thoughts and dreams from high in the mountains.
