If you are going to learn anything from this weeks resignation of Brendan Eich it is the GOP now values gay rights and opposes fire at will employment policies.
If you believe that then some billionaires will soon be along to sell you the idea that God loves gays, their past positions were just policy differences, "Fire at will" is not supposed to apply (especially to CEO'S) and free speech t(T)rumps everything, except of course if you have a uterus and work at Hobby Lobby and or need contraceptives.
This was Mozilla's announcement
Mozilla prides itself on being held to a different standard and, this past week, we didn’t live up to it. We know why people are hurt and angry, and they are right: it’s because we haven’t stayed true to ourselves.
We didn’t act like you’d expect Mozilla to act. We didn’t move fast enough to engage with people once the controversy started. We’re sorry. We must do better.
Brendan Eich has chosen to step down from his role as CEO. He’s made this decision for Mozilla and our community.
Mozilla believes both in equality and freedom of speech. Equality is necessary for meaningful speech. And you need free speech to fight for equality. Figuring out how to stand for both at the same time can be hard.
Our organizational culture reflects diversity and inclusiveness. We welcome contributions from everyone regardless of age, culture, ethnicity, gender, gender-identity, language, race, sexual orientation, geographical location and religious views. Mozilla supports equality for all.
In the upside down world of the GOP having a culture that reflects diversity and inclusiveness is now full on fascism. So People should not be fired for their opinions and the GOP will now be supporting
fast-food workers and workers
locked out by Kellogs? Of course not.
They want Mozilla to know that you should not let go CEOs they like. Workers can get stuffed. So Republickers use the feedback tool to vent and offer their free dumbs about the poor put upon Brendan Eich.
Free dumbs below the squiggle.
Normally Republicans use the Mozilla feedback tool to ask why their twentieth Tea Party toolbar is slowing down their gifs of Saint Ronald of the Raygun.
Now they are using it to tell Mozilla that they hate people being intolerant of bigots. There is a whole lot of crazy there and I only got to page three.
I am so disappointed that an organization that was built as an alternative to control from the outside has allowed itself to become a victim to just that. As a libertarian I cannot in good conscience continue to support Mozilla. Sadly, farewell! db
Running off your CEO because of a donation to someone you do not agree with sounds like something they would do in Russia. You cannot convince someone who thinks for themselves this is good. Sadly, I will not use your excellent browser anymore.
Eich left but it was not long ago that Republickers were
applauding sacking people for
who they voted for. It wasn't supposed to happen to the "wealth creators" I guess?
Dear Mozilla. I recently read of your board's decision to support the LGBT Mafia over your CEO/founder's right to support the candidates/issues of his choosing. What your board did was nothing short of political suppression. Your support of the LGBT Mafia, over Eich's right to free expression has lost you a customer(and anyone I can convince in the future). I am uninstalling all Mozilla products as of now; and will encourage everyone I know do likewise. Good Riddance.
He quit, just as you are using free choice to quit using Firefox. Your side has the Queen of Quit. She was so good at quitting she bilked you guys for money and quit the 2012 Presidential race before it even started. Ask her to explain the difference between being fired and quitting.
Social Engineering is not in the job description for Firefox. It's a sad state of affairs when an internet browser starts making statements about how someone should think. The marketplace of ideas should be open for everyone to select their own beliefs - not those dictated by Firefox. This very behavior helps define a particular ideology that became prevalent in Europe in the 1930's. Jeopardy: Intolerance of others is...WHO IS MOZILLA FIREFOX?
"It's a sad state of affairs when an internet browser starts making statements about how someone should think." I'm scratching my head about that one, I thought telling these idiots how to think was the job of Fox News and Rush Limbaugh.
The only browser I typically use. Not anymore. Uninstalled everything and will never use your products again. I will not use the product of a company that feels that it has to be the world's moral compass and mind police. Get lost and out of my life!
I guess next you will fire people for their choice of religion if a group from another religion complain about their beliefs.None of us are safe from cyber bullies when cowards run the web.
Calling for someone to be fired because of their religion?
Not really a thing at all. Just don't be Muslim, Athiest or
support Gun controls.
Nice job caving to the gay mafia and trampling freedom of expression and free speech in your ousting of Brendan Eich. I am uninstalling Firefox and encouraging friends and family to do the same (Facebook is great isn't it). You should have kept your nose of this issue and just focused on business. Marriage has always been for the purpose of procreation. It's so narcissistic for today's generation to think they're so much more morally enlightened than everyone who has preceded them that they...
Protesting, using your
Liberal created facebook on the Liberal created
World Wide Web on your
GAY created computer. "Marriage has always been for the purpose of procreation" except of course it isn't, although I do get that you GUYs love marriage so much
you keep on doing it.
I can no long support a company who supports intolerance in the work place by capitulating to the Gay Gestapo. President Obama was allowed to evolve, why not CEO Brendan Eich?
I thought you didn't believe in evolution?
I am disgusted that Mozilla forced Eich to resign. There are more people like me that do not accept homosexual marriage as NORMAL, than do. How dare Mozilla be prejudice against an outstanding American for having his views. HOW DARE YOU MOZILLA!!
Block caps and multiple exclamation marks. Yep this guy is angry. He has gone full Dumb Con One on Mozilla.
