I know that some are skeptical about the development of a knock-down, drag-out, GOP Civil War in the aftermath of the Cruz-o-Matic shutdown and Debt Ceiling debacle. But it sounds to me more and more like the 2014 primaries will metaphorical Gettysburgs for the GOP. The House passed an $8.2 million public works spending bill 417-3. FreedomWorks and Heritage action are not amused.
More below, including a poll:
The Teahadists continue to threaten anyone left of Right Wing Looneyville:
Conservative Republicans defied conservative groups like FreedomWorks, Taxpayers for Common Sense and Heritage Action for America that opposed the water projects bill after whipping up sentiment for the government shutdown as a tactic for rolling back President Barack Obama's health care law.

Don't think for a minute that those GoTP groups won't hold this vote against those Conservative Repubs come 2014 primary season.
Meanwhile, old guard, allies of the Establishment GOP are jumping in to try to encourage actual governance (when it supports their agenda, of course):
Business groups led by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Manufacturers strongly backed the bill. The chamber distributed state-by-state fact sheets and said it would consider the measure a "key vote" when it determines which lawmakers to support in next year's election.

The Chamber and NAM vs. FreedomWorks, Heritage Action, and Taxpayers for Common Sense. Norquist vs. DeMint. Yertle and McCain vs. Cruz and the new RWNJ flavor of the month. This will get very interesting--a real dogfight.
How will it end? What do you think? Take the poll.
