After the cut: a transcript of Mr. Santorum's remarks.
RICK SANTORUM: It was another constitution written similar to the time of the American constitution. That was over in France. But that revolution, and that constitution, by the way, was similar to the American constitution. There was a difference, though. That revolution was founded on three principles: Liberty. Good. Equality. Excellent. But the third was different. The third was fraternity. Brotherhood. Not paternity. Fatherhood. They did not get their rights, they did not claim that their rights were inalienable that came from God. It was a secular revolution, of which we relied upon the goodness of each other. This is the Left's view of where America should go. And of course, where did France go? To the guillotine.
