Congressman Bruce Braley has a video up that responds to the threat of SOPA/PIPA. As he speaks, his words are beeped out and black strips keep appearing over his face.
Braley is trying to let us know that he gets it, and I let him know that I approve. If you are in Iowa, please do likewise. When we get what we want from a politician, we need to reward and reinforce the behavior. His Congressional site says over 800 people contacted him.
Here is the video:

Dear 2laneIA:
Thousands of people across Iowa and across the country have contacted me to express their disgust with an online piracy bill working its way through Congress. And the overwhelming response has been: Say NO to SOPA.
I heard you, and I'm with you. That's why I strongly oppose this bill and will be voting NO if this legislation comes to the House floor.
Online piracy is a real problem, but SOPA is the wrong solution. This bill threatens innovation – the fundamental building block for small business and ultimately job creation.
But most troubling of all, SOPA would have a chilling effect on free speech by limiting the free exchange of ideas across the Internet. I just can't stand for that.

I look forward to reading all your great comments.
Thanks for all you do.

For those who do not know who Braley is, he represents the eastern part of Iowa, including Waterloo and the Quad Cities, first elected in 2007. He is one of three Iowa Democrats in the House; the others are Blue Dog Boswell and Dave Loebsack. He is ambitious and wasted no time in getting involved in DCCC and making himself visible. One of his projects is the House Populist Caucus, which he chairs. He is presumed to be preparing to run for Tom Harkin's Senate seat when Tom retires. He tends to keep his finger in the wind, and right now he feels it blowing from a progressive direction.
The rest of the Iowa delegation is keeping quiet, except Grassley. Chuck was a supporter of SOPA before he decided that it might need a little "tweaking," so he is clearly feeling the pressure. Tom Harkin, Dave Loebsack, Steve King, and Leonard Boswell are undeclared. Contact information for all of them at the link.
Note to Braley's staff: Next time you do one of these, could someone make sure his coat lapel isn't inside out? The rest of the world thinks Iowans are hayseeds as it is. Thanks.
