I was blown out of my shoes today when I got the email that I'd been gifted with
a lifetime subscription to my favorite orange oracle. No, really????? I wanted to
laugh and cry and screech simultaneously. I'm not a writer here, I just can't live
without this place. It's like dialysis for the mind. Living in these "interesting" times
that we have going on, it is damn near impossible to hold on to a shred of sanity.
Plus I live in Arizona!!! (At least we have Mother Mags, patron saint of the crusade
against the terminally stupid.)
This is a gift of rare intensity to me. If it weren't for Kos, I'd have quietly slipped
off the deep end by now. This community has brought so much to my life! The
level of knowledge here is inspiring. The kindness and quickness of this community
to step up when others are in need is legendary. This place truly reaffirms faith in
the bonds of humanity. It's like a virtual Amish village where everyone always knows
exactly what to do and steps up with quiet grace to just HANDLE whatever needs
attention. I've read diaries from people with tears streaming down my face, in awe
of what they have gone through, only to witness others here jumping in and
offering real-life solutions on the spot and being quick to give whatever is needed,
whether it be practical working advice or cold hard cash. People rise to a level of
service to each other that is stunning and humbling to behold.
There's no place like Kos! It's always my first stop in the morning and the last at
night. I have become addicted to the intelligent hub of people that have created
this outpost of sanity and quality information in our besieged world. I love the humor,
passion, silliness, and commitment that ring out from people's comments and
diaries. It feels like a floating university where you can always learn something
important and expand your life view any time at all. There is room for everyone
here who simply has presence of mind.
Thank you, dear anonymous donor for the gift of a lifetime. I am so grateful and
appreciative of your kindness. There is no place I would rather be!
