So, Jimmy John's wants to leave Illinois because of its tax code huh? Has he ever thought about companies that haven't been PAID BACK for services to the government and elsewhere, and how THEY feel?
In my humble opinion, the only way to get new business to come to Illinois is to be a state that pays her bills; and Illinois hasn't been doing so.
I say, Jimmy John's, you aren't leaving because of lack of money, you're leaving to make a political statement. Because of that, I say good bye to you. I and others want our bills PAID so our State will once again be looked up to and a place to be proud of.
For those that MAY be losing their jobs -- blame Jimmy John's for not being a true Illinoisan and if you allow me, a true American, and instead just being about the MONEY.
Yes, I said "the money". Isn't moving out exactly what LARGE companies have done over the past 20 years? They've moved to Mexico or overseas to make MORE MONEY because they didn't like the labor laws and cost of doing business here in United States?
One last statement. If you have a company and truly ARE hurting and can't make ends meet then I'm very sorry for your loss and for those that lose their jobs, I truly am; however, if you are that bad off that a few extra dollars would bankrupt you, it sounds like maybe you were on the verge of losing your place of business long before this new tax code. Again, I 'am' sorry.
