This is something you won't see on Faux Noise soon. Perhaps some other Democrats will stand up for their principles when they see how well standing for something is regarded, even by people in the opposing party. It's not liberals that the disaffected populace is tired of, it's the blue dogs and DINOs. Even Republicans will back someone who stands for something.
For those of you that haven't heard of Mr. Grayson, he's been making a splash in the House with his outspoken progressive stance. He's the guy who described the Republican Health Care plan thusly: "The Republican health care plan is this: 'Don't get sick, and if you do get sick, die quickly.'"
Mr. Grayson knows what it's like not to be wealthy or powerful, and I would bet he knows how much it sucks to be poor and powerless and ignored. He grew up in a tenement in the Bronx and distinguished himself academically in his days as a student. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Harvard IN THREE YEARS! This was while working nights as a watchman and cleaning toilets. He then went on to graduation from Harvard Law school (with honors) and then got a Master's degree in public policy. Oh, and he's ABD for a Ph. D. in Government. Compare those academic credentials to the low functioning morons that pass for Republican leadership.
Anyway, this guy came to my attention because he has a penchant for calling a pig a pig (Limbaugh) for not apologizing for speaking the truth and for naming bills what they should be named. Read about him a bit more at this web site:http://namelesscynic.blogspot.com/2009/10/rep-alan-grayson-may-just-fuck-your.html. And there are many others. This is the man I'd hoped Barack Obama would have been. Mr. Grayson is an old school populist and a man for our times.
To quote nameless cynic: "What ought to be happening is that Democrats should be using Grayson as their point person, sending him out to take a wrecking ball to the stick houses of arguments Republicans keep constructing. "
Anyway, to quote Wonkette about Mr. Grayson: "Alan Grayson for president for life forever"
