I've been thinking about Mrs. Palin recently and her reluctance to be interviewed before she is
"READY".
Lots of things can interfere in our lives making us a bit uneducated concerning the countries pressing concerns. Running the state of Alaska, running a family and just being a working mother can leave little time to learn about where our nation stands on the issues.
Cramming for tests is not usually a good policy. But what I've been wondering is why Mrs. Palin might be spending her time "chunking"?
Chunking is a device developed by Harvard professor George Miller in the 1950's. He suggested that humans can reasonably remember at least 5 and sometimes up to 9 items in their short term memories.
"Chunking" reduces the amount you actually have to cram into your memory in order to pass the test but it doesn't insure that you will remember it after the test is complete.
I checked out a few web sites on cramming for tests and did find this warning at the wikihow site.
"Even if you do well on a test, don't expect to remember the material a couple days later. People generally learn better if they do it gradually. Cramming is really just a short-term memorization aid."
So regarding Mrs. Palins ability to step into the Presidents shoes on day one if, God forbid, something happened to Mr. McCain I'm really having doubts.
I don't want someone that has to cram. That has to get "READY". We have sixty days before the election and I want someone that has learned this stuff gradually.
Anyone who has been paying attention these past 7 years should not have to cram for the big test on how to run the United States and that is just my humble opinion.
