A very interesting development as we research the people who are supporting Governor Palin. First we learn that Palin's daughter is pregnant. If it were not for the left bloggers we would not know this until after the election. As I have said, it normally would not be a story except that the Republican right wing and evangelical right, which supports the Republicans, are so quick to tell everyone how to live their lives.
<div>I then learned that Tony Perkins, President of the radical right Family Research Council, issued a
statement in support of Sarah Palin.
I want to see the "Hypocrite right" spin their way out of this one.
This caused me to think. If it were not for politics, wouldn't you think they would perhaps call for Sarah to back out so she could do the "Christian thing" and stay home to support her daughter in this time of trouble? After all, there is no way Sarah Palin is going to be able to provide the support needed to her daughter, be Governor of Alaska (which she claims she will still do very well) and be actively learning what she needs to learn to be an effective Vice President. She can't do all of that effectively. You would think a true "family oriented Christian" would prioritize the family part first.
I then read more about the positions of this political oriented far right Christian group. In a statement describing their positions on the Family, they cite their position on family economics. In this area they discuss their position on the two earner family. They say,
FRC also believes that the two-worker parent family should not be favored (as it presently is) over the family with one parent at home raising the children, ..."
So, what is their position on Sarah Palin? Clearly they are not a "single working parent" family and they clearly could be if they wanted to be one. Each had a good enough job that they could have lived on one salary. We have this interesting situation where the "Family Research Council" is supporting a person for the Vice Presidency who is showing she has far bigger "family problems" than the Clintons ever had.
