up2date's excellent diary yesterday, "
Teen pregnancy has me seeing Red" got me thinking about other statistics. Here's one that I put into a handy little chart, color coded by red and blue states.

I don't necessarily have a problem with out of wedlock births,(Personally, I'm glad the kids are being born instead of aborted.) but you would think after 30 years of dominence in Washington, you would think the cultural conservatives would expect more results from their representatives that they work so hard to get in office. The repubs seem to have had no problem getting their business agenda passed, i.e. tax cuts, deregulation, etc., but abortions are up, gays are gaining rights and becoming somewhat more culturally accepted (Will and Grace is on television, which would have been unthinkable 40 years ago), the Ten Commandments have been removed recently from an Alabama courthouse.
Then again, I suppose this is part of the whole us vs. them thing that isn't helping anyone in this country.
