I like to point out when people make the argument against "modern" weapons.

The founding fathers could have never imagined tools we have today such as the internet, and how much mis-information can be spread and how much damage can be done as a result. Clearly with these advances, the dangers are far beyond anything they could have imagined, and we need to take steps to bring the first amendment into the 21st century.

That doesn't have nearly as pleasant of a ring to it does it?

What people fail to realize is that especially when you're dealing with constitutional rights, and particularly fundamental rights - that they are not ranked in any kind of order. None is taken to be any more important than another. If you can make an argument against the 2nd due to these types of concerns, than a legal precedent is in place that opens a door in the scrutiny of the others as well. In fact, in the more recent scotus rulings on the 2nd, they look to rulings on other fundamental rights for guidance. It's dangerous ground to be breaking.
